Drones have become increasingly popular in the last 2 to 3 years. McElroy Weddings has received Section 333 Exemption from the Federal Aviation Administration. Our Pilots are UAS licensed and we’re insured for aerial Drone videography. If you don’t know what a Drone is, it is a small unmanned aircraft that is able to fly over head with a camera attached to it. There is a pilot, as well as a visual observer controlling and viewing the Drone. As the pilot is controlling the Drone, you are able to capture aerial videography and photography.
According to Fortune Tech, in their blog Drone Sales Have Tripled in the Last Year, in 2015 Drone sales spiked up to 445% during the holiday season and they expect their popularity to grow in the next coming years.
Many of our clients here at McElroy Weddings request aerial videography in order to capture b-roll (which is videography of scenery, objects, etc.) It is a unique way to capture your wedding venue, especially if your venue is near the beach or populated by greenery. If you plan on showing family members and friends your wedding video, it is a great way to keep the viewers’ attention.
At McElroy Weddings, we offer Drone Videography services as a separate entity to your wedding package. That way if clients are interested in aerial videography for their wedding, we are able to offer it!
