We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about our decision to use royalty-free music for our wedding trailers. So, we decided to break it down for you!
5. No Copyright Issues
There is no chance that YouTube or Vimeo will take down a video that uses royalty-free music, period. But with popular music, there is no guarantee. While a popular song might surpass copyright laws right now, there is no way to know if record companies will force YouTube and Vimeo to pull down songs in the future. We want you to be able to publically share your wedding trailer with all of your friends and family, and the best way to guarantee that is by using royalty-free music!
4. More Natural Audio
Using instrumental, cinematic music allows the editors to use as much natural audio as they want! By natural audio, we mean your vows, bridal party speeches, and any other special moments. Since there are no lyrics to maneuver around, it allows the editors to use longer and more frequent moments of natural audio. This will make your video even more unique and timeless!
3. You Can Use Your Favorite Songs in the Cinematic Highlight Video
As we mentioned in our last blog post, your full wedding video will include all of the crucial moments from your big day. So don’t worry – you will still be able to choose the songs incorporated into the finished product!
2. There are no Time Constraints
One perk of using royalty-free music is that the songs are easily adjustable. Oftentimes while editing to popular songs, there are leftover clips that we want to include in the trailer, but there simply isn’t enough time. Unlike popular songs that we all know backwards and forwards, altering royalty-free songs to be longer will sound seamless!
1. Customized Song Based on the Feel of the Wedding
Before choosing a song for your wedding trailer, the editors watch every single moment of your wedding first. Therefore, the editors get a feel for the tone of the wedding and can choose the music accordingly. Your wedding trailer song will be unique to you!
