Tis the Season

You Can Only Do These Things at a Winter Wedding:

Let it Snow

We all know you can’t actually control the weather (and a blizzard isn’t ideal for your big day anyways) but why not make is snow as you and your new partner are walking down the aisle after you say your “I dos”, or your first dance or as you leave for you honeymoon where is most definitely won’t be snowing. It is a magical way effect that can only be done at a winter wedding!

 Bundle Up

As a spring bride you are worried if you are going to have to wear a raincoat over your wedding dress and summer brides are worried about how to sweat-proof their makeup but as a winter bride you get to bundle up in a cozy cape or fur scarf. You can also skip the heels and opt for warm fuzzy boots that just add to the over all winter feel of your special day.

Hot and Steamy

Pass on the tropical fruity drinks at the bar and come up with warm winter refreshments. You can have a “create your own hot chocolate” bar with mix-ins and cute garnishes like candy canes, marshmallows, peppermints and to get really crazy you can top it off with some tasty liquor like Rumchata, Bailey’s or Pinnacle Whipped or Salted Caramel. Need some non-alcoholic beverages ideas try hot apple cider, plain hot coco, chi teas.

And the Honeymoon Begins

Unfortunately peak wedding season collides with peak hurricane season in tropical destination especially the Caribbean. So, that means that winter is the perfect time to retreat to a tropical destination and leave the cold weather, ice and snow on the ground as you fly away to clear water and warm sand. Or you can pass on that and hit the slopes!

Take Advantage of the Décor

During the holiday season most venues go all out with decorating, and they leave them up for the duration of the season- there is a fairly good chance that you can incorporate them into your wedding. When you meet with your venue director, ask if you can use some of their décor and just fill in the open spaces with your own. It creates half the work and will help with they budget as well!
