New Years Resolutions

For any of you reading this, you know every year we make a promise to ourselves that we are going to change and accomplish everything we’ve ever dreamed of in the next new year.  There are so many blogs and articles claiming ‘YES aim big for your new year’s resolutions’ or ‘NO aim small instead,’ and the reality to it is that time generally doesn’t work in our favor or the timeframe that we’d like. Yes, it’s great to make sure you are on your way to accomplishing all your goals, but the key words are ‘on the way.’ If you an inspiring actress, videographer, photographer, artist, entrepreneur, etc, you know that good things happen in time! Along the way your gaining more experiences.

According to Statistic Brain only 8% of people successfully achieve their New Year’s Resolutions . We put pressure on ourselves to make sure we accomplish these things, then look back at the last year and realize that things went completely opposite, or better things happened that you least expect would!

Instead of putting pressure to lose a certain amount of weight, don’t put a number to it, begin before new year’s! Make it a healthy routine.  Feeling good about yourself comes from within, once you get in a routine where you know you are working towards a goal, instead of a date and amount it can be easier to add less pressure on yourself, with pressure comes frustration-hence why most people stop their goal so soon!

And for those of you making it a resolution to find love in the next year, great!  But, everything happens in its own time. Take a deep breath and remember all the good things that have happened in the last year and be thankful!

This isn’t a blog shaming New Year’s Resolutions, but rather a blog to let you know it is okay to be happy with where you are at in life! Just remember as long as you work towards a goal, everything will happen in due time.
